Derrick Baker, professionally known as Bigg D, has been a force on the music scene for decades. Originally from Carol City in the heart of Miami, FL, the music producer and songwriter can do it all - from funky basslines to hard hitting drums and everything in between. Most of all, Bigg D is known for his expert guitar-playing adding that extra layer to his instrumentals. Bigg D’s earliest music success was when he toured with BeBe & CeCe Winans and Shirley Caesar in the 1980’s. He excelled at being on stage but knew that he could be an elite producer in the studio as well. Fast forward 30 years and Bigg D has amassed a career worthy of a lifetime achievement award; including a catalog of hit records and award-winning songs across multiple genres. He has produced for superstar artists like Pitbull, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Missy Elliot, Jamie Foxx, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, City Girls, Ozuna, Chris Brown  and many more.

Bigg D has parlayed his acclaimed reputation into a music business empire. In the 2010’s he founded the hybrid production company label 12th & Collins with partner Cainon Lamb. Through 12th & Collins, Bigg D has gone on to discover and develop some of the biggest names in music today like Pretty Ricky, City Girls, Sukihana, and more. He is also known  for his live music nights at South Florida’s hottest clubs.  He leads Bigg D and Da Band through an evening of soul, funk, rock, and hip-hop songs while bringing out surprise celebrity guest vocalists for each performance. Countless elite artists have graced the Bigg D stage;  a running tradition the music industry has acknowledged Bigg D for.
